Simon Bonner Animals

These pieces are from Simon’s Marvellous Menagerie collection selected especially for the Underdog Print Shop. The vibrant colours and style are a great way to brighten things up at home.

The original began life as light pencil sketches on watercolour paper. Simon tries to capture the right movement and pose and maybe a little of their habitats too for composition. The black ink lines define the form and add a little shading and texture as needed. The colour can then make or break the piece with a little risk taken with every ink added and seeing where they flow giving the finished piece a funky and colourful street art vibe.
